Founded in 1990, Foundation Communities provides affordable housing and free on-site support programs for families, veterans, seniors and people living with disabilities. Located right next door to Texas Mutual headquarters in Austin, Texas, the organization has become a valued community partner. Serving more than 10,000 residents across 31 apartment communities, their on-site Learning Centers provide free after-school and summer programs for more than 400 children.

“We are focusing on education and workforce development, as well as helping families create safety and structure in their lives,” said Jackie Cuéllar, Director of Corporate & Volunteer Engagement at Foundation Communities.

Texas Mutual shares in Foundation Communities’ commitment to helping residents build brighter futures, and our employees actively support that mission by volunteering their time and service.

“Texas Mutual protects our employees, supports our mission through grants and volunteers their time with our residents,” Cuéllar said. “They aren't just a vendor, they're also a partner in every sense of the word.”

With over $500,000 invested in Foundation Communities through our community grants, we are proud to have the local nonprofit organization as a policyholder and partner.

“We were able to expand and continue to offer those essential services on site because of their funding,” Cuéllar said.

But our investment goes beyond grant funding. We’re building lasting relationships within the community. From hosting meals and holiday celebrations to tutoring kids after school, we’re showing up for the people and neighborhoods we call home.

“[Texas Mutual is the] gold shining star of what community partners should and could look like when companies make the investment to support the communities around them,” said Cuéllar.

We’re grateful for partners like Foundation Communities and their support for working families across Texas. Explore our community funding programs to learn how we’re helping build stronger communities statewide.
